 The American Veterans Traveling Tribute

- The Cost of Freedom -

  We expect to have all our activities center around the wall during this year's Gathering.  Everything from our Opening & Closing Ceremonies to numerous Memorials to our Sunrise Worship Service will occur at the Wall.  When there are no presentations, Local Bands and DJs will perform.  We can promise you will never be bored and likely you will be deeply touched.

The black granite Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. draws millions of visitors every year. They come to remember and honor the loved ones they lost in the Vietnam War. They touch the names engraved on the V-shaped monument.  The memorial is one of the most inspirational sites in the nation's capital.

The Traveling Wall is a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall scaled to 80% of the original's size. Since 1998, the 370 foot long replica has visited every state in the lower 48 states and has been seen by millions of people, reaching approximately 40 communities per year.  Since 2008, The Traveling Wall has been a part of the overall Cost of Freedom Tribute that also includes memorials to other conflicts, from World War II to the present day and including a 9/11 exhibit. 

• Panels for honoring Law Enforcement and Firefighters with pictorial display.
• A panel memorializing the casualties at the Ft Hood 2009 shooting.
• Pictures of each of our commanders in chief throughout history.
• A 9/11 tribute with the names of all 2984 casualties organized by where they were located at the time of death.
• The AVTT "Gold Dog Tag" display.  This one of a kind tribute honors those who have fallen and to which there is not currently a memorial for their honor and remembrance. Each dog tag permanently records the casualty information (full name, branch of service, rank, date and location of casualty) for that American Hero. This tribute is updated constantly and would be accurate to the day it would arrive at your location. Currently the AVTT Gold Dog Tag display is the tribute to those who have fallen 1) In hostile military actions between the end of Vietnam and the 9/11 attack and 2) As a member of the armed forces who have given their life in the Global War on Terror.

SATURDAY'S CONCERT EVENT

 Jeff Senour and the CTS Band

Fueled by a passion to touch people of all ages through gripping lyrics and contagious melodies,  singer/songwriter Jeff Senour formed rock band CTS over 6 years ago with a desire to serve those who serve us.  Combined with rock music that tells a story of life, to compelling multi-media videos and lighting, the "Freedom Rock Experience" is a don't miss concert honoring the true American Heroes who sacrifice everyday so we can enjoy the freedom we have in America. 

Since its formation, CTS - Consider The Source has performed in front of thousands of people all over the country, has had featured music on videos such as Rolling Thunder, Run For The Wall, TV shows and hit  radio charts nationally.  The band has received National acclaim from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, past Presidents and awards from the Military Writer's Society.

CTS is also partnering with local high school orchestras to perform during the "Freedom Rock Experience" to inspire young people to be involved in music and honor teachers as our heroes too. CTS has also partnered with charities such as Snowball Express giving hope and entertainment to Military families who have lost a loved one while serving and Jeff wrote a song called, "Snowball Express" on their new album CTS No Turning Back dedicated to the families.

CTS is donating 20% of all album sales for 2010 to Patriot Guard Riders.  "Freedom Rock Experience" will amaze all who come to the concert and unite us all to have pride in our country.

Your Gathering of the Guard Committee is in HYPERDRIVE, working to bring you the best Gathering yet.  Prices have been reduced from last year and the events planned certainly will have you saying, "I got here as fast as I could!"

The Gathering of the Guard is the annual gathering of the Patriot Guard Riders.  This is our NATIONAL gathering and happens only once a year. This is OUR time to enjoy the camaraderie of members from across the nation, to learn new techniques concerning safety and the execution of our missions, to honor our past and present Warriors & First Responders and to celebrate all this with the local hosting community!  ALL proceeds from this event go back to the Patriot Guard Riders for use toward our yearly operating expenses.  The funds are used to purchase flags and ice and water for our many missions.  Proceeds will also go toward our endeavors of providing a scholarship fund for the children of our Fallen Warriors and for our work with Help on the Homefront, which provides assistance to our deserving Veterans.

CHECK-IN & LOCAL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Check-in and Local Registration will be conducted at Kay's Motorcycle Mania on Thursday, 9 Sep 10, from 0830-1800 (8:30A-6:00P).  Kay's is located at 103 South Main Street, Nolanville, TX 76559.  Click HERE for a map.   It is highly recommended that you take advantage of THIS check-in/registration to avoid missing any of the festivities beginning the next day!  Rod & Kay of Kay's Motorcycle Mania are offering FREE, first-come, first-served primitive camping in the newly cleared field next to their store location.  Bring your tent or park your camper for FREE! Space is limited, so come early.  You must be registered to take advantage of their offer.

ADDITIONAL CHECK-IN & LOCAL REGISTRATION

Additional Check-In and Registration will be at the Killeen Activities Center (3201 South WS Young Drive, Killeen, TX 76542), beginning at 0830 (8:30A), Friday, 10 Sep 10. Click HERE for a map.  It is highly recommended that you take advantage of the check-in on Thursday at Kay's to avoid missing any of the festivities!    

EVENT LODGING

Allow 48 hours after registering before calling Hotels or Motels.  We need time to relay your Event Registration information to them so they know you are authorized to receive our specially-arranged discounts.

Kay's Motorcycle Mania - FREE, first-come, first-served, primitive camping in the newly cleared field next to their store location (See Thurs Check-in above).  Bring your tent or park your camper for FREE! Space is limited, so come early.  You must be registered to take advantage of their offer.

If you are attending alone, purchase one (1) Single Registration Package.

Couples and friends may purchase one (1) OneUp/Double Registration Package and receive two entries plus one concert ticket for $5 - a $25 value!!  (Additional concert tickets may be purchased separately during this registration process, at check-in or at the door if available.)

Active Duty and their Dependents must show their ID cards to receive the reduced prices.  Dependents must be present with Sponsor at time of check in.

Eventbrite fees are not optional and are part of the Eventbrite package for their hosting our event registrations.  There is a fee for each item purchased.  The fee is one of the reasons we lowered the ticket prices this year.  Thank you for understanding.

Sponsor discounts are available only to registered attendees!  Approximately 24 hours after completing registration you will receive an email with instructions on how to receive DEEP discounts from our participating hotels.

Children under the age of 12 are granted free access as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.  This does NOT include the Saturday Concert Event.

THE PATRIOT GUARD RIDERS MISSION STATEMENT

The Patriot Guard is a diverse union of riders from across the nation, who have one thing in common aside from motorcycles.  We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their lives for America's freedom and security.

It is not a requirement that you are a veteran...it makes no difference what you ride or even if you ride or your political viewpoint.  The only prerequisite is RESPECT.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American Heroes as invited guests of the family.  Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:

1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen Hero, their family and community

2. Shield the family and friends from interruptions created by protestors or groups of protestors.

We accomplish these objectives through strictly legal and non-violent means. To those who are currently serving and fighting for the freedom of others, we honor and support you with every mission we carry out and pray for your safe return home.
